A Bachelor’s Degree in information systems management, engineering, or closely related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the general experience requirement.

Preferred Requirements:

  • experience developing testing strategies from scratch for large-scale systems projects;

  • experience with HP Quality Center or similar quality management software;

  • experience with application integration, data migration, and data reconciliation;

  • experience with Oracle enterprise-class database environments;

  • experience leading technical staff in a matriced, cross-functional environment;

  • CSQE or similar software quality-related certification.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Demonstrated technical and leadership skills, such as:

  • considerable knowledge of the principles of application development and systems integration;

  • demonstrated knowledge and understanding of internet tools and technologies, including principles of web application development; expert knowledge of the principles of client/server development;

  • ability to define strategies and plans for influencing multiple decision makers;

  • experienced in facilitating sessions that address complex or highly sensitive issues;

  • understands and can explain the interrelationship of multiple concepts, and translates these concepts, ideas, and situations into clear, understandable, and simple terms;

  • effective communication and interpersonal skills;

  • knowledge of project management tools with proficiency in their use;

  • supervisory ability.

Examples of Duties:

  • manage all aspects of quality assurance testing for the Banner implementation; this includes but is not limited to:

  • working closely with project managers and other key project stakeholders to create an end-to-end testing strategy, incorporating requirements for unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and regression testing;

  • creating a project plan that outlines requirements, resources, and anticipated timeframes to support the strategy; enforcing schedules, deadlines, and standards for testing activities; establishing contingency plans

  • facilitating meetings and other discussion with business customers and others to help guide them through the project testing process;

  • having a lead role in the selection, implementation, and adoption of enterprise-class quality management and testing software for use with the Banner project;

  • managing the establishment of test cases across all testing phases;

  • implementing policies and procedures to assess the value of automated vs. manual testing for particular test cases;

  • developing a defect management process, including the creation of metrics;

  • validating final testing results;

  • communicating with IT team members, customers, and partners to keep everyone properly informed about the progress of testing for the project; this may include presentations to various audiences as needed.

  • be the hands-on leader of the software quality assurance team, with duties including but not limited to:
