As a Senior Application Architect, you will interact with our Business and IT customers and colleagues across the Enterprise to architect, engineer, operate and identify solutions and technical architecture to help transform technology and architecture in our 'next generation environment.
In this role (located in Atlanta), you will use your architecture, holistic / strategic thinking, communications and consultative / leadership skills to connect architecture and technology to overcome challenges - and provide measurable business value to our customers.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Create architectural solutions that articulate the business context, conceptual design, and component-level logical design.
  • Recommends new technologies based upon business value drivers and return on investment; drives new technologies towards implementation and exploitation.
  • Establishes overall systems architecture vision and ensures specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged; contributes to the holistic vision of Enterprise Architecture.
  • Defines architecture standards and anticipate areas where architecture standards may need to be developed that are in-line with customer, IT and industry standards.
  • Directs the construction of architecture components (e.g., data architecture, application architecture, technical architecture).
  • Works with business units to translate business strategy into discrete requirements compatible with current technical architectures.
  • Defines systems, technical, and application architectures for new strategic initiatives; develops and maintains an architectural blueprint and evolutionary roadmap that defines and communicates the strategic direction for these architectures in support of business and technical strategies
  • Explains how the roadmap maintains and delivers cost effectiveness, business value, and competitiveness.
Qualifications

Application Architect:

Requires Bachelor's degree in related field; 3 years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 8 years of experience in information technologies and/or 4 years of experience in health care industry preferred.

Application Architect Sr:

Requires Bachelor's degree in related field; Five years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MS/MA degree preferred. ten years of experience in information technologies and/or Six years of experience in health care industry preferred.

Experience in Mainframe technologies - Cobol, JCL, IMS, DB2, VSAM, TSO, Z/OS is required.
Experience in Java, also Relational and NoSQL database is an asset.
Experience in health care industry is an asset.
Experience in architecture/design with background in developing reference architecture models, patterns and guidelines is required
Solid team player with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong knowledge of Mainframe design patterns and principles
Experience with PEGA is an asset
Experience with mainframe infrastructure is an asset
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Exposure to open source management best practices
Experience with architecture and technology governance and standards management
