Application Development Architect

Our Information Technology department at our corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, IL has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, highly motivated individual as an experienced Software Engineering Architect. As an individual contributor the Software Engineering Architect will be the Technical Lead for projects of the highest complexity. This role will also serve as a technical mentor for both internal and external designers and developers, bringing to the table in depth knowledge of Ace technologies and systems, as well as knowledge of technologies not currently employed by Ace.
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science.
10+ years experience demonstrating progressive levels in programming and systems analysis and design.
Proven expertise in at least 2 development languages.
Proven expertise in analysis and design for at least 2 design methodologies.
Proven ability to successfully deliver technical solutions to business problems.
Strong command of system development life cycle methodology development processes, practices and artifacts.
Comprehension of all application components (business rules, data access, user interface) for multiple application models.
Comprehensive understanding of the business functions performed by the assigned business unit, merchandising, marketing and/or advertising preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to comprehend design specifications.
Strong knowledge of most technologies employed at Ace, across business units.
Strong understanding of the wholesale and retail business model preferred.
Strong understanding of all business functions, Marketing, Merchandising and Advertising preferred.
Strong research capabilities and experience.
Strong industry knowledge preferred.
Strong understanding of all system components (application, system platform, database)
