A leading reciprocating compressor Sales/Parts/Valve Services company is seeking a young industrious New Machine Sales/Applications Engineer with 5 years of large industrial reciprocating compressor experience. This position is a dual role. Location is Houston, TX. Responsibilities - Primary function is to engineer large reciprocating compressor quotes and configurations per RFQs in support of clients and sales
- Provide support where required in technical support issues, including service contract items and providing technical reviews and analysis
- Make client and site visits as required for sales support
- Help insure superior customer satisfaction, including customer support in helping company team to solve client problems
Requirements - 5 Years applications engineering experience in the large reciprocating compressor industry
- BSME degree (other 4 year accredited engineering degree will be considered when have proper experience - BSEE, BSChE, BSIE, etc.)
- Solid knowledge of reciprocating (NOT turbine) compressor parts, components, assemblies and configurations in the preparation of RFQs
- Good customer support service background
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time
- Solid communication and coordination skills with clients, sales, FSR, parts, shop, etc
- Solid Autocad, excel, power point and computer skills associated with configuration of layouts and quote presentations
- Secondary language, such as German and/or Spanish, a plus

Questions you will be asked:
• List your Applications Engineering experience in the large reciprocating compressor industry (include position, brands and sizes of reciprocating compressors, companies and dates).
• List any experience in the reciprocating compressor industry customer service and support departments (field service, repair, etc.).
• List your BSME or other accredited 4-yr engineering degree (include university, yr of graduation and any honors) and associated industry training, certifications and memberships.
• List your computer proficiencies in autocad (or related drafting programs), MS excel, word and power point, and in related programs used for prepartion of quotes and engineering configurations of recipricating compressor systems.
