Job Description

This Application Security Manager will work with Process Management development groups and teams to ensure that any software, developed or acquired, meets stringent security standards while enabling rapid innovation to meet customers’ and manufacturing’s dynamic needs. This Application Security Manager is a key member of Emerson Process Managements Secure Development Lifecycle Program and Software development projects. This is a full time position.

Job Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will be security champion who can translate security concepts into language that is meaningful to many audiences, including business and technical leaders and individual contributors
  • Must be able to approach application security from the perspective of risk management and avoid purely academic thinking about software security
  • Demonstrable ability to influence decision-making processes at all levels of an organization will be critical to success
  • Possess strong leadership skills and be an effectively influence highly technical individual contributors
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be familiar and have experience integrating security into development practices that result in certified production release of applications
  • Experience working with recognized IT Security related standards and technologies
  • Exposure with software penetration testing, secure code review, architectural risk assessment, static code analysis
  • Establish Development Security Controls and provide input to Control Self-Assessment audits
  • Be a self-starter

Job Requirement

Minimum Education Required:  Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer discipline.

Minimum Experience Required: 8 years of experience in secure application development and/or Security Role

Preferred Skills:

  • Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional [(ISC)2 – CSSLP] or similar certification
  • Familiarity with industry standards and Agreed Upon Procedures (AUP) and ISO/IEC 27001
  • Familiarity with a variety of development and testing tools, including: WhiteHat, Eclipse, Subversion, Maven, Hudson, Weblogic, Tomcat, Oracle Database and IBM AppScan
  • Experience with Project Management techniques and Scrum
  • Able to explain all vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the OWASP Top 10, WASC TCv2, and CWE 25 to any audience, and discuss effective defensive techniques

Location:  This position resides in the U.S. at a large Process Management location and reports to the Group Information Security Leader
