Job Description:
Akimeka LLC, a Native-Hawaiian company, has an opportunity for an experienced Application Support Specialist.  This position will support Force Health Protection & Readiness (FHP&R), an organization within the Department of Defense’s Military Health System, located in Falls Church, Virginia.  Specific duties include:
  • Provide Tier 1 application support for unclassified and classified Web-based applications
  • Receive inbound customer calls and email inquiries, analyze problems, research solutions and provide solid answers easily understood by the customers
  • Ensure issues are fully documented in the help desk ticketing system application
  • Escalate non-Tier 1 issues to Tier 2
  • Master the features and functionality of the supported software applications
  • Maintain knowledge of software updates and enhancements
  • Provide training on specific tasks in the application

 

Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred

 

Required Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a customer support or help desk role
  • Proficient in Windows 2000/XP, MS Office, and use of the internet
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced team environment
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Prior experience working with Apple/Mac systems is a plus. (OS10/OS9)
  • Prior medical and/or military experience desired
  • Must be able to work 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM - Wednesday through Saturday
  • 4 days on - 3 days off schedue 

 

Security Clearance:  Applicant must possess an Active DoD SECRET level security clearance.
