The applications engineer will manage technical projects and support focused on adhesives and sealants used in the automotive market. Provides outstanding product and process guidelines and recommendations for adhesive-based projects received from customers both internal and external to Henkel. Works closely with Key Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Field Sales and other departments within Henkel, along with design and manufacturing engineers at customers. Expected deliverables to external and internal customers to include accurate technical reports, and product and process recommendations.


What we offer

Provides NA-based technical support for the Automotive market for Loctite brand adhesives and sealants.Works directly with Henkel customers to identify, qualify, close and maintain Henkel adhesive applications.Reviews and understands complex customer components and projects then gives sound product and process guidelines to both external customers and Henkel commercial team. Responsible for the designs of experiments to develop the technical data needed to support the use of Henkel product technology.Leads multiple high level technical projects focused on sustainability, profitability and innovation. Identifies new opportunities for product development and works with the development project teams to bring the opportunities to market.Provides technical expertise for line trials at customers and technical centers. Additional customer visits required for technical support, troubleshooting, training seminars and business reviews.Conducts technical knowledge exchange with global engineering colleagues.Operates standard laboratory equipment and full scale prototype equipment of moderate complexity while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.


Who we are looking for

Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial EngineeringPrefer a minimum of 1-3 years of experience within the Automotive market or similar industryAdhesive knowledge and experience within the automotive industry preferredMechanical aptitude and the ability to write accurate technical engineering reportStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProven leadership, self motivated and ability to work under minimal supervisionUp-to-date computer skills including\: strong literacy in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPointPotential for up to 20% overnight travel to customers in support of specific projects and applications.
