Tonka Equipment Company is a well established designer and manufacturer of water treatment systems with over 50 years of successful experience in the field. Tonka's principal focus has been municipal water systems, and it now has more than 1800 groundwater and surface water systems in operation in 46 states.
Due to corporate initiatives in new product development and process improvement, our engineering Department is looking for an applications engineer with technical competence and who is comfortable working in a team environment. We will provide customized training and development for Tonka’s processes and products. Duties will include:
Support and assist the Vice President of Engineering in special project development.
Development of new products and processes for the water treatment field; assisting with customer driven marketing plans.
Integration of new products with our existing equipments.
Mechanical, material and manufacturing design support for products or process enhancement.
Application support: understanding, evaluating and applying Tonka products to unique treatment applications.
Customer service support, providing process troubleshooting and problem solving capability.
Water treatment pilot test oversight and operation.
Problem prevention through rigorous technical project review, including water chemistry, hydraulic and instrumentation evaluation.
Direct support of territory sales managers, providing assistance with proposals, P&ID’s, estimates, project profiles, engineering inquiries and occasional travel.
The candidate we seek will meet the following requirements:
Four-year degree in engineering, classes in chemical engineering or water treatment very beneficial.
Three plus years experience in the field of engineering.
Ability to drive major Engineering initiatives, including major project of function management experience and experience directing technical personnel.
Working knowledge of instrumentation and control devices, P & ID diagrams, loop tuning and control logic helpful.
Effective problem-solving, time management and organizational skills.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to communicate with engineers and contractors on a technical level.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
Some national travel required (up to 25% of time).
Customized training and development for Tonka's processed will be provided.
