The Team:
A career on the ESRI Professional Services and Consulting team provides you the opportunity to collaborate with our customers to support innovative database and applications development, SOA, and enterprise software solutions. The variety of project work enables you to use your software development, database engineering, GIS expertise, and project management skills in a number of growing markets such as natural resources, commercial, government, utilities, and defense. Most positions are based at our headquarters in Redlands, California and our regional office in Washington, D.C.; however, opportunities are also available in other locations.
Responsibilities
Software design and development on assigned projects using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS Server, or ArcGIS Server Image extension.
Design, develop, test, document, and maintain custom GIS tools and demonstrate to customers.
Write code as sample applications or assist in developing a working application for the customer.
Work closely with software developers, marketing staff, U.S. Government clients, and contractors to analyze problems and define requirements.
Requirements
Bachelors or masters in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
Software experience including expertise in C++, Java, C#, .NET, Python, or data modeling.
Knowledge of OO analysis and development, component-based architectures, and COM and UML techniques.
Experience presenting technical concepts to all types of audiences.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
U.S. citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
Recommended Qualifications
Experience with GIS and a defense/military background.
Technical leadership of a project development team including software estimating, planning, and progress tracking.
Additional programming skills.
