Put your years of experience into a future of excellence with Stanley Associates. Stanley is seeking an Applications Programmer for our Kearneysville, WV location.
 
Specific Duties:
  • Designs and develops Visual Basic / C# computer programs that automate specific business processes, or conducts the operations and maintenance of operational application software systems.
  • Troubleshoot and debug application code and respond to modification requests initiated by system program manager.
  • Fields and resolves trouble calls created in response to user's requests.
  • Follow OSC procedures for code versioning in Microsoft SourceSafe.
  • Provides real time feedback during Joint Application Development (JAD) and Technical Working Group (TWG) sessions / meetings.
  • Required to provide technical input for creation of policies, procedures and associated documentation.
  • Provides level of effort estimates to manager for project efforts.
  • Works with Technical Writer to record all routine procedures and updates appropriate documentation as needed.
  • Researches and investigates problems and develops viable solutions; reports findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to team.
  • Candidate should have practical experience with Visual Basic 6.0 or Visual Basic
  • .Net. C# and Object Oriented Programming experience highly desirable.
Minimum Education Requirement and Years of Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or formal training and 8-10 years applied experience in Visual Basic programming (VB 6.0, VB.NET). C# and Object Oriented Programming experience highly desirable.
Additional Requirements:
  • This position requires minimum of an interim secret clearance to begin work and a final secret clearance to maintain the position
  • Background with MS Operating Systems (XP and WIN2K). Familiarity and experience with SQL Server 2000 or 2005, Active Server Pages (ASP), ASP.NET, Extensive Markup Language (XML), Mock testing, Web Services, ActiveX and Visual Studio .NET Development environment necessary.
  • Practical experience building databases and stored procedures strongly desired.
  • Works closely with technical staff and various user community and other government agency personnel.  
  • Experience in developing Object Oriented code using ASP.NET, C#.NET 2.0 with Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 with .NET framework 2.0. (Preferred .NET Framework 3.5). 
  • Good knowledge of Design Patterns is required to create well designed backend and front end object models, Windows Services and Web Services in .NET
Preferred:
  • Works closely with technical staff and various user communities.
  • Position will require limited on-call status to support system requirements, initiatives, or customer requests after hours and during weekends.
  • Candidate must be flexible.
  • Must be intuitive, self-motivated, and demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills.
  • Must work well alone and in a team environment.  
  • Experience in the SCRUM flavor of Agile Development, Test Driven Development, use of LINQ, SQL Reporting Services, Windows Communication Framework.
  • Experience with Smart Client Software Factory, Model View Presenter user interface design pattern.
  • Familiarity with Team Foundation Server source control and reporting, a plus.
