Applications Support/Sr. Principal Business Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY: Partner with Sales and Marketing to identify and analyze business needs and provide innovative recommendations for technology solutions. Simultaneously manage all IT aspects of projects in support of the established business objectives for assigned clients and major functional area(s). Responsibilities primarily include leading and participating in projects, and may include baseline support, administrative and maintenance duties in the area of CRM. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: - Partner with Sales and Marketing business client community to identify and analyze business needs and provide recommendations for technology solutions within the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) environment.
- Manage all aspects of one or more large, or few smaller technology and application development projects in support of the established business objects for assigned clients.
- Mentor and guide junior staff members on Best Practices
- Analyze and assess business unit’s current sales processes and define improvements within the application.
- Possess strong project management skills including project identification, planning and definition, budgets, ROI, requirements gathering, functional/ use case documentation.
- Contribute towards the evaluation of new business solutions. Identify projects, lead feasibility studies, and define cost/benefit and economic justification of approved IT projects from all sizes.
- Convert the tactical and strategic business objects of clients into actionable items, delivering results that enable the business to achieve their objectives.
- Responsible for the overall success of an assigned project including the design, development QC/testing and implementation phases. Communicate and provide updates to all team members, business sponsors and IT Management. These results are achieved through either direct Project Management or as a member of another Project Team.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of project documentation as defined by the GISMO (SDLC) roadmap.
- Follows and adheres to all IT Standard Processes. Includes but is not limited to: SDLC, service level agreements, compliance (computer validation, company SOP’s).
- Perform gap analyses based on current configuration/functionality and new requirements.
- Responsible for providing educational support of implemented systems and business processes.
- Responsible for the overall success of CRM related projects; including the requirements gathering, design, development, AQ/testing, and implementation phases.
- Possess strong analytical skills to comprehend existing business processes and related IT standards and requirements to be able to address their educational needs.
- Proactively identify new trends and technologies for possible application within the Sales and Marketing Departments.
- Provide production support as needed
- Ability to learn existing sales processes and applications in a short time and be able to provide baseline support for business clients.
- Must keep abreast of the current and new technologies and related concepts, including desktop environment, web applications, and reporting arenas.
- Provide education support of implemented Sales systems and business processes.
- Serve as liaison between business clients, technical development (IT Competency Center / Commercial Infrastructure, Help Desk and Training) for assigned projects, as well as baseline support.
- Working knowledge of Siebel administration, including the management of lists of values, users, positions and responsibilities.
- Responsible for managing Baseline support of implemented systems in their area, as defined in Max plan.
- Candidate must be results oriented, self-starter with strong organizational skills and flexibility to manage multiple business priorities concurrently with minimal/no supervision.
- Self-managed individual who can help make decsions with the approval of management
- Some travel/extended hours required
REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelors in MIS or Computer Science.
- Minimum of 8 – 10 years working experience in Information Technology.
- Experience with Siebel Version 7.x or higher is a must.
- Experience with Siebel Pharma is preferred.
- Experience with Siebel Samples Management, Travel and Expense, Medical Education module a plus.
- Experience with Siebel Analytics a plus.
- Experience with Siebel administration a plus.
- Experience with a Customer Master Application a plus.
- Siebel Business Analyst certification a plus.
- 3- 5 years of proven Project Management skills.
- 3- 5 years experience in Microsoft Project or similar tool.
- 3 - 5 years experience in technical documentation writing (requirements / functional specifications)
- Experience in SDLC methodology.
- Experience in a validated environment a plus.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, writing, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong and demonstrated teamwork and collaborative experiences.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Must be results oriented, adaptable and self-starter with a “can-do” attitude.
- Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills to manage multiple business priorities and timely deliverables, concurrently.
- Working experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and validated environments a plus.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical syndicated data (e.g. IMS, Verispan, NDC) a plus.
- Technical proficiency in Windows XP, MS Office Suite, and clear knowledge of various desktop applications.
- Proven SQL knowledge and experience required. Exposure to PL/SQL a plus.
- Proven ability to understand relational databases. Experience with Toad or SQLPlus is plus.
- Strong understanding of relational data and business process modeling.
- Proven experience with MS Visio or Embarcadero is a plus.
- Ability to learn existing sales processes and applications in a short time and be able to provide baseline support for business clients.
- Familiarity with SAP, Siebel, and Ariba are a plus.
- Some travel may be required.
- Overtime is required as dictated by project / tasks needs.
