Role Summary/Purpose The Architect – Smart Grid Software will primarily focus on defining and architecting software products to address the critical functions and information flows in Smart Grid applications. The initial focus will be on AMI head-end systems and Synchrophasor Data Concentrators. This is accomplished by facilitating, supporting, and defining requirements across products, programs and deployment services.
Essential Responsibilities Develop system designs, data models and provide technical reviews and guidance for development teams Some C# / C++ code development is expected Participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions, demonstrating product capabilities to customers, partners and integrators
Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or otherMinimum 3 years experience in at least 2 disciplines, including but not limited to application architecture, application management, application development, SOA, database designMinimum 3 years structured software development experience in C# or C++Minimum 3 years domain experience - Energy systems, T&D / power gen systems, Electrical distribution protocols and standards or background & schooling in electrical engineering / physical sciencesMinimum 3 years experience in Software Development using Microsoft Visual Studio / Development tools Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work.
