Job Description

·       Design and document architectural requirements for the MMIS.

·       Design and document internal and external interfaces.

·       Work with programming staff to ensure architectural requirements are met.

·       Define technical solutions for new system requirements.

·       Review functional designs to ensure system consistency.

·       Review the requirements and designs of all system changes.

·       Serve as a resource to programming staff for approach to system changes.

·       Assess and monitor system performance.

·       Analyze and review system costs for current system and for system changes.

·       Suggest and implement improvements to system efficiency.

·       Coordinate architectural changes with various programming staff.

·       Perform capacity planning to ensure MMIS contractual requirements are met.

·       Research and evaluate new technologies and develop strategies for integration into the MMIS to improve the MMIS.

·       Assist ITO on software/hardware installs and upgrades.

·       Contribute to a high-performing, motivated work group by applying interpersonal communication and collaboration skills to achieve project goals.

·       Work with team leaders and supervisors to ensure project and organizational deadlines are met.

Qualifications/Education

·       Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.

·       Expertise in using Microsoft Office; including Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, and Visio. Also ability to document projects using MS Project and other tools.

·       Expertise in conducting a client interview (internal and external) regarding new development and problem resolution, with ability to document and follow-up.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Knowledge of the integration of medical and/or claims information and information systems in a 24/7 processing environment.

·       Ability to analyze complex technical system requirements.

·       Advanced level of knowledge of current technologies, programming languages, project management concepts, and application or systems development methodologies.

·       5 years of application design experience.

·       5 years of systems engineering experience, including experience in system efficiency and architecture.

·       5 years of system architecture experience, including hardware, software, networks, databases, Web Portals.

·       5 years of experience with IBM z/OS standard products.

·       5 years experience in DB2 structures and SQL programming.

·       5 years experience in CICS design and processing.

·       5 years experience in IBM z/OS and third party software technical support.

·       3 years experience in application tuning using products such as Strobe, CA-Sysview, CA-Insight.

·       5 years experience in Object Oriented design and development

·       5 years experience in J2EE systems development

·       5 years experience with IBM Websphere Portal and Application Server

·       2 years experience with IBM Enterprise Service Bus software

·       Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
