SIFCO Industries, Inc., a premier publicly held supplier to the aerospace industry, seeks a qualified professional to join our Forge Division’s Management team as Front End Area Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

Ø       Coordinate and manage assigned production activities.

Ø       Maintain safe, orderly and clean work environments.

Ø       P&L responsibility for Front End work centers.

Ø       Manage adherence to TOC Throughput targets at multiple Milestones

Ø       Drive TOC constraint management methodologies

Ø       Manage Milestone inventory levels to maintain steady flow

Ø       Development and management of training programs.

Ø       Development and management of department Quality Audit systems.

Ø       Responsibility for corrective action implementation for operational non-conformances.

Ø       Initiate and drive continuous improvement efforts through SMART program using LEAN, TOC, Six Sigma and

        Reliability-Centered Maintenance methodologies

Ø       Continuous improvement plan to be focused upon: safety, quality, variable cost, equipment utilization, labor

        productivity, Material cost and energy usage.

Ø       Coordinate and arrange engineering support for Front End work centers.

Ø       Daily application of the CBA.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Ø       The position reports directly to the Operations Manager

Ø       Other interactions occur with Planning, Engineering, Accounting and Human Resources.

Ø       Direct reports include Supervision in the Saw Room, Forge and Heat Treat

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø       B.S./ B.A (engineering discipline preferred) or equivalent work experience.

Ø       5-10 years manufacturing experience.

Ø       Ability to motivate people, particularly a production workforce.

Ø       Strong interpersonal skills

Ø       LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferred

Ø       Exposure to and understanding of Theory of Constraints throughput and inventory management preferred

Ø       Exposure to Six Sigma variability analysis techniques preferred.

Ø       Other or substitute qualifications as determined by the Operations Manager.
