Area Sales Manager / RG09406

Position Description:

The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for providing interface between corporate and external distribution customers to ensure sustainable, long-term relationships within a defined geographic territory.The ideal candidate will be located within the eastern half of the U.S. and preferably be within a close proximity to a major airport.

Responsibilities
•Develop distribution account plans and key objectives.
•Ensure sales objectives and targets are met in alignment with distribution account plans.
•Coordinate and orchestrate internal external resources in line with distribution account strategies.
•Support distributor contract negotiations.
•Provide accurate and timely sales forecast by volume/price or by product.
•Provide accurate and timely information on competitive situations.
•Develop, execute, administrate, and report on distributor support programs.
•Manage distribution account database.
•Provide accurate and timely documentation of pricing and respective information necessary for accurate customer invoicing.
•Up to 75% travel to be expected.
•Awareness of Specialty Products Division Responsible Care management system requirements.
•Maintain timely accurate customer data related to territory and products.
•Ensure customer satisfaction.

Education and Experience

•BA/BS degree from an accredited academic institution is required.
•Overall 10 years sales experience required with 5 or more years being in managing distributor sales in the specialty chemical market.
•Proven track record of achieving top and bottom line growth results and proactively accomplishing assigned goals and objectives.
•Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic customer relationships, handle multiple priorities and work in a self-direct manner.
•Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to make professional presentations and proposals to both internal management and with distribution customers.
•Must be well organized and detail oriented.
•Strong computer skills including MS Office.
