Job Summary:
The Area Supervisor directs production operations for one of six Dentsply Production Value Streams such as Restoratives, Alloys, Polyvinyls,DPD, Acrylics or Infection Control Products areas by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and staff.
The incumbent is accountable to ensure that all WIP and finished products conform to specified requirements and that finished products that do not conform to requirements are prevented from being used or delivered.
This position is 3rd shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Plant Management.
· Confers with vendors, customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
· Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
· Utilizes lean and DMAIC methodologies and processes to institute departmental improvements in quality, efficiency, safety, and cost.
· Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
· Reviews operations of competing organizations and plans and directs production program to develop a lean supply chain.
· Directs preparation of various accounting records including production, quality and accounting.
· Key member of new product development core team responsible for coordinating and preparation of experimental batch requests and product scale ups for new product launches.
· Associate will be innovative, knowledgeable and intensely committed to ensure that every product and service we supply conforms to FDA and Quality System Regulations as well as ISO 13485/MDD Standards.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree (AA) from two-year college or technical school is preferred; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages 1-3 subordinate group leaders, who supervise a total of ~ 30 - 75 employees within the assigned Production Area.. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
