PGS is currently hiring Armed Officers with Dispatch and Control Center experience for a client site in Sacramento, CA. 

RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:

• Operates a security station consisting of closed circuit televisions systems, communications equipment, and fire detection an alarm systems, to monitor all security and fire alarms, parking lots, lobbies, and gates at a Company site or building complex.


• Monitors the arrival and departure of employees and visitors. 


• Informs supervision of security or safety hazards. 


• Responds to security and fire alarms by dispatching plant protection and fire prevention personnel.


• Provides pleasant interaction with associates, customers and visitors


• Performs routine emergency checks, keeping information checklists current and complete.  Schedules security station equipment maintenance with the appropriate Company maintenance organization.


• Observes and reports any suspicious activity to appropriate security/management representative

·         Log conditions found while monitoring site using appropriate reporting format.

·         Observes and reports any suspicious activity to appropriate security/management representative

·         Enforces regulations designed to prevent breaches of security-

·         Exercises judgment and uses discretion when dealing with the emergencies and security violations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

ü  U.S. citizen

ü  At least 18 years of age

ü  High School Diploma or Equivalent

ü  Valid CA Guard License Required

ü  Firearms Permit Required

ü  2 years previous Security experience, Military or law enforcement background a plus

ü  Dispatch or Control/Console operator experience required

ü  Must be able to meet state/county licensing requirements for Security Officer

ü  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ü  Courteous telephone manner and superior customer service skills

ü  Ability to pass a background check, personality assessment and drug screen

ü  Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

§  Properly proportioned as to height and weight

§  Possessing binocular vision, correctable to 20/30.

§  Able to discriminate among standard colors

§  Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 20 feet and whispered conversation at 10 feet with each ear

§  Able to perform normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as:

o    Standing or walking for an entire shift

o    Climbing stairs and ladders

o    Lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs

o    Running a distance of one and a half miles in less than fifteen minutes thirty seconds or less
