Art Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Art Director oversees the artistic development of design materials. Develops the images used in a variety of creative projects, including presentations, brochures, advertisements, catalogs, direct mail, corporate identity and packaging. Designs may integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative and graphic elements. Within the studio, the art director works with Creative Directors, Project Directors and 3D designers to develop concepts for clients and often specializes in a particular medium.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

v     Responsible for the design, layout and formatting of materials.

v     Supervises freelancers and production artists on projects.

v     Maintains graphic identities for clients across all jobs and keeps consistency

v     Must work closely and collaboratively with design team to strategically implement strong graphic concepts.

v     Responsible for assisting preparations for presentation.

v     Responsible for attending press checks and ensure graphic standards of quality.

v     Punctuality and regular attendance are required on the job.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year college, University or art school  in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Communications or closely related field

Experience:

3-7 years Graphic Design. Environmental, Trade Show or retail design and/or Exhibit graphics preferred

Special Skills/Qualifications:

Proficiency in Adobe CS4
