Art Director

About the Job

The Art Director will support the marketing objectives of maurices by leading the creative design and production of marketing projects based on established schedules. This position is instrumental in building and maintaining brand integrity through consistent direction and design. Provide a high level of expertise in print marketing design, photo shoot direction, along with developing and maintaining vendor relationships.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Responsible for inspiring and motivating the creative team and is accountable for developing and directing all creative work. Responsible for leading and mentoring assigned creative staff and being available to critique their work to maintain consistent creative quality from concept through production

·         Meet with the VP Marketing on a regular basis to understand and formulate brand and marketing direction

·         Meet with internal clients regarding specific projects. Formulates creative strategies and solutions to meet the goals of each project

·         Responsible for the concept, design and pre production of direct mailers, special event marketing, in-store signage, packaging and a variety of supportive for various internal clients

·         Effectively present ideas to management team and internal clients.

·         Attend/manage photo sessions

·         Direct and supervise all color imaging and on-press approvals

·         Establish and maintain the relationships of assigned projects to the overall Brand strategy and marketing calendar

·         Ensure brand individuality, excitement, impact, and accuracy in all marketing materials.

·         Adhere to demands of production schedule and budget parameters. Be aware of release schedule and devote time necessary to meet deadlines within budget

·         Stays current on all industry trends20% Travel

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         College degree in Graphic/Fine Arts field

·         A minimum of four years of Art Direction experience

·         Prior Art Direction experience in a fashion environment is preferred, but not required

·         Possesses a solid understanding of graphic design, photography, illustration, print process, typography and creative copywriting

·         Mac proficiency and fluency in the following programs: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience in Adobe Flash is a plus.

·         Experience in directing photo-shoots with an excellent eye for color management

·         Ability to manage multiple projects

·         Excellent communication and organizational skills
