Large design and construction organization has an exciting opening for an innovative and dynamic Arts professional. The position is responsible for the management of a program that provides for the creation of works of art to be displayed in new facilities and conservation of over 1,500 pieces of art in existing buildings throughout New York City.    The Director, Operations will oversee the day-to-day management and long-term planning of site specific art with oversight of four primary areas: commissions; collection maintenance and conservation; fundraising and educational outreach.

The successful candidate will possess managerial experience in art commissioning; developing and maintaining strong relationships with the arts education community; fundraising, leadership and consensus building skills; demonstrated analytical, strategic thinking, and problem solving skills; strong attention to detail; outstanding presentation, written and oral communication skills; and the ability to organize and drive multiple projects to timely completion.

A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and ten years of full-time experience in operations, management,  art commissioning, conservation, art education, art history or a related field is required; five of which must have been in an administrative, supervisory or managerial capacity.  Particular consideration will be given to candidates who possess a Masters degree in Arts Administration, Public Administration, Fine Arts, Conservation or Art History.
