Part of the Telecare Family, Morton Bakar Center is a licensed, 97-bed skilled nursing facility dedicated to providing optimum care for older adults with a primary major mental illness. Under the direction of a multidisciplinary team, clients receive diagnostic evaluation and treatment to address their psychiatric and medical needs. As the Assistant Director of Nursing you will plan, implement and supervise the direct nursing care providing by the nursing department including:
-Assist in the establishment of staffing requirements
-Assist in all aspects of Nursing recruitment
-Collaborates in the management of the Nursing Department budget
-Ensures the facility is in compliance with all related state, federal and local licensing regulations and requirements
-Coordinates the collection and validation of time cards for all nursing personnel and alerting the Director of Nursing of problems including tardiness and absenteeism
-Establishes and defines standards which ensure safe and therapeutically effective care
Qualifications
-Two years of psychiatric direct care nursing experience and two years of experience in a supervisory role in a skilled nursing facility or an acute hospital
-Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current license as a Registered Nurse by the State of California is also required, with a B.A./B.S. degree preferred
-Current knowledge of psychiatric illness and its treatment, psychiatric rehabilitation principles, and regulatory requirements regarding the delivery of health care to mentally disabled persons and infection control requirements are essential.
-Superior skill in leadership and supervision is crucial
-Bilingual is a plus
-Applicant must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department
