Assistant Department Manager-Textbooks
Salary Commensurate with Experience
We’re looking for people with premium-brand retail store experience who are ready to take on the responsibility of managing our Textbook department, in one of our premier campus bookstores. As an Assistant Department Manager, you are knowledgeable about department and store operations, provide outstanding customer service to the academic and co-curricular community and ensure that your area of responsibility is maintained, properly merchandised and operationally sound. By driving your booksellers to create customer experiences that enhance bookstore loyalty, you will deliver measurable results for the store and for your school. And best of all, you’ll be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work - and where employees love what they do.
Two years of experience in retail, as a manager or as a buyer is required. Experience managing a Textbook Department is a plus. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills. You are expected to work a majority of your time on the selling floor, which requires physical activity. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary. Being a graduate of the Barnes & Noble College Bestseller program is a plus.
