This job is based out of our Southern States Manassas Service retail facility located in Manassas, Virginia.   This location is a large retail store, which generates around 5 million in total sales volume.  This volume primarily consists of lawn and garden supplies and equine products.  

Qualifications

• Agricultural/Agronomic Background preferred
• Minimum two years retail experience
• Knowledge of Farm Supply Products. Equine knowledge would be helpful.
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Strong relationship/sales abilities
• Honesty and Trustworthy
• PC Skill Proficiency (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
• Effective communication, organizational, multi-tasking and analytical skills
• Team Player, Great Attitude, Customer Oriented and driven to be successful personally and professionally
• Will need to work the hours needed during the busy seasons
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs, pass drug screen and background check

Education 

• BS degree in Agronomy or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervisory of team associates
• Directs record keeping and inventory control
• Directs the work of personnel in the absence of the manager
• Performs fill-in jobs for all employees when necessary
• Performs other management or administrative duties as the day to day operations require, including filling in for the manager
• Makes decisions requiring independent judgment and discretion in respect to credit administration and payment of bills
• Develops advertising, merchandising techniques and programs that conform to policy guidelines and budget requirements
• Engages regularly in making sales or taking orders for services during customer visits in the store
