Assistant Manager Paint Production Engineering

 

General Summary

Responsible for the Paint Department (including Assembly repair area) functions and goals, and ensuring that policies are followed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the activities and performance of Paint Production Engineers including implementation of design changes, quality and corrosion protection activities, production and material trials, problem solving activities, various cross functional or task force teams, etc.
  • Manage the active participation of Paint Production Engineering in the identification and resolution of quality and production issues as well as monitor capacity data, MPS, simulations, etc.
  • Plan and manage short/mid/long term goals and budgets; actively pursue production cost savings ideas and evaluation of alternate solutions.
  • Develop personnel development and training plans for Paint Production Engineers in keeping with continuous improvement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in a related field along with (5) to (8) years of progressive experience in the Paint field in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent of education and experience.
