Assistant Manager, Product Development (Footwear/Handbags)
About the Job
Product Development Responsibilities:
- Assist manager and team in all aspects of the job, helps in establishing and maintaining a material library for Accessories and footwear
- Collaborates with internal partners (Design, Category Management, etc) and external resources (agents, suppliers, mills, factories, etc.) to optimize product development life cycle.
- Partners with Global Quality and Safety Organization to insure products are manufactured to Regional, Federal and State regulations.
- Develops rules of engagement (flexibility and responsiveness).
- Develops vendor relationships.
- Helps to monitor vendor KPI's (Key Performance Indicators).
- Monitors product category trends.
- Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word., Powerpoint etc
- Willing and able to learn E1 Avon's system
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum five (2) years of direct responsibility for apparel sourcing and negotiations.
- Extensive knowledge in garment manufacturing (e.g. knitting, sewing, dying, etc) and component sourcing/manufacturing (e.g. yarn development, trims, fabric development, dying, etc).
- Extensive knowledge of Asian and developing market apparel sourcing.
- Proven track record in developing strong vendor partnerships while achieving financial objectives.
- Team leader and talent developer.
