About the Job

What you will do
The Assistant Plant Controller reports to the Plant Controller and assumes the maintenance of standard costs, inventory reconciliations, and inventory general ledger interfaces. This role is an individual contributor and also assists in the journal entry preparation, management reporting, warranty calculations, inventory, cost of sales and variance analysis, account reconciliations, and special projects as assigned.


How you will do it

  • Assist in month-end closing cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.

  • Analysis, tracking, and reconciling standard cost roll results and reporting

  • Monitor daily/weekly cost exception reports and ensure cost issues are resolved on a timely basis.

  • Maintain the review and processing of any/all current and standard cost roll change requests.

  • Assist in the improvement of existing processes and development of new tools regarding inventory accuracy and reconciling standard costs

  • Responsible for the calculation and analysis of inventory reserves, e.g., Excess, Obsolete, and Shrink

  • Reconcile inventory and inventory related accounts.

  • Work with Materials Management in the preparation of quarterly and annual forecasts/budgets of inventory.

  • Assist in the coordination of physical inventories

  • Performs cost roll-up of new inventory items.

  • Performs manufacturing order review, closeout and variance analysis.

  • Prepares applicable balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Leads the annual standard roll process.

  • Perform cycle count audits.

  • Warranty reserve analysis and reconciliations.

  • Assist Plant Controller with Annual/Qtrly Budgets and Forecasting

  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards. 

  • Minimal Travel Requirements

  • B S in Business Finance/Accounting with minimum six years manufacturing experience using SAP or equivalent MRP systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software and E-mail is required. Must be proficient in excel pivot tables, vlookup tables.

  • Analytical reasoning

  • Strong communication skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a diverse workforce
