JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting and ensuring that all quality and production requirements are met by supervising daily operations of assigned departments, building and maintaining an effective supervisory team, and analyzing operations on a continual basis to improve costs, quality and service.  The successful candidate will seek to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations while consistently meeting production needs and requirements in the Petersburg, Virginia location.  Full managerial responsibility will be assumed after a successful training period for six (6) months to one (1) year.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·        Directs and coordinates the activities as assigned to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations while also meeting production needs and requirements consistently.

·        Plans, develops and implements policies and goals of subordinate supervisory personnel.

·        Confers with personnel, reviews activity and operational reports to determine changes in programs or operations if required or as necessary.

·        Ensures that employees adhere to company policies and work rules regarding HACCP, GMP, and SOP.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

·        Associates degree or knowledge equivalent to such degree.

·        Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in a supervisory role where responsibility was maintained for directing and training lead staff within the food industry, OR eight (8) years experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment.                               

·        Ability to read, analyze and interpret charts, graphs and logs on a technical level.

·        Ability to effectively present information and communicate with all levels of personnel.

·        Good analytical and logical problem solving skills.

·        Knowledge of USDA and HACCP regulations.
