Assistant Product Manager

About the Job

Assistant Product Manager - Small company culture; big company resources give you a chance to shine and make an impact in our fast growing healthcare B2B direct marketing organization.  Your responsibilities will include profitability and growth of one of our core product lines. 


 


Working with the Product Manager you will use your 2 years (minimum) of experience to demonstrate your proven ability to see new product opportunities and implement strategies to launch them, set and meet aggressive objectives and implement a multi-channel marketing plan (catalogs, solo mailers,


e-mail, web, telephone). Identify, research and target specific product and market segments with growth potential. 


 


The right candidate will work with the Product Manager to identify and develop new products and market channels to maximize the profit contribution of your product line. Your duties will include:



  • Analyzing market trends and technologies.

  • Identify and promote advertising opportunities.

  • Evaluate and execute new product opportunities.

  • Participate in the development and execution of our internal sales strategies.

Responsible for achieving sales, profit and market share objectives for assigned target markets


 


Primary responsibilities:



  • Analyze sales and profitability for product line and make recommendations to the Product Manager

  • Monitor sales to ensure product line maintains or exceeds sales objectives and market share

  • Research and analyze competitive pricing and market share comparisons to help set pricing and positioning strategies.

  • Identify, evaluate and recommend advertising opportunities for product line

  • Manage vendor relationships: Add new products and negotiate cost and service improvements

  • Recommend new product ideas based on communication from sales reps

 


Sales Support-



  • Manage communication with sales reps to gain input on new and current product lines and to keep informed of their needs

  • Responsible for ongoing training to support sales effort. Ensure ongoing training of all product changes, new products and competitive update, sales opportunities.

  • Review complaints and suggestions relative to product line and make suggestions/changes as needed.

 


 


Minimum requirements:


BS/BA in marketing or business


2 yrs experience in the B2B direct response industry including: direct mail, e-mail,


on-line, telemarketing, print media


Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.


Computer Software – Demonstrated ability with Excel, Word, Outlook
