ULTA Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance ULTA Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance has a Assistant Store Manager opportunity available in our - WILMINGTON, DE store located in Concord Mall. General Summary and Scope Management position typically responsible for assisting with all aspects of managing a single retail store including: hiring, scheduling, training, performance management, marketing and loss prevention, inclusive of the salon. Provides team leadership for Merchandising, Task Team and Beauty Consultant employees. Accountability for maintaining store presentation to support brand consistency, and maintains expected operational and merchandising standards. Manages store employees and reports to General Manager. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions) v Assists the General Manager with the planning of meeting and exceeding budgeted sales, expenses, profit and productivity goals in support of district/region strategy. v Communicates with employees through daily warm-ups, store, department and individual sales goals. v Promotes and develops ULTA sales and loyalty programs to meet or exceed goals. v Manages sales floor and drives retail and salon sales by: addressing customer concerns, coaching employees, and mitigating product loss. v Manages and processes payroll for the store including accountability for Loss Prevention audit payroll, Human Resources sections and meeting On Target standards. v Schedules staff effectively in consideration of store traffic, store Profit & Loss statement and key store initiatives using an automated scheduling tool. v Motivates and manages Operations Manager, Merchandise Manager, cashier, task and consultant teams to ensure all responsibilities are delivered accurately and timely. v Recruits, assesses and hires Cashier, Task Team, Beauty Consultant, Merchandise Manager and Operations Manager talent, using an on-line application tool in accordance with company hiring policy and procedures. v Facilitates the New Hire orientation process and all store internal and external sales and product training and education, as well as employee learning maps. v Executes the full-cycle performance management process for Operations Manager, Merchandise Manager, cashier, task team and consultant employees. v Manages the POS system and all related procedures including cash wrap management, cash auditing and tip reporting. v Executes Key Corporate Communication actions and updates Communication Boards. v Addresses weekly mailings to the Corporate office. v Ensures all company policies, standards and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner. v Conducts open and close procedures. v Associates degree, 4 yrs. relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. v 2 – 4 yrs. of previous retail management experience in a complex or specialty store with a minimum annual sales volume of $1.5 million. v Proven ability to positively impact store sales and profitability. v Proven ability to recruit, assess, train, develop and promote employees. v Proven ability to build, develop, motivate and lead diverse teams. v Demonstrated competency in sales, products and services. v Knowledge of retail business practices, preferably in a large and complex retail environment. v Solid computer skills and experience with POS systems. v Self-motivation, an entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional communication, problem-solving and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are also essential. v Flexibility with scheduling is required. v On a regular basis, requires the ability to: walk; reach with hands and arms; stand for a minimum of 6 – 8 hours; and lift and/or move 50 lbs. v On a frequent basis, requires the ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
