Assistant Art Director

About the Job


Wilde Agency, a direct marketing agency and a subsidiary of the W.A. Wilde Company has an opportunity to add an Assistant Art Director to our team on a temp to perm basis. As an Assistant Art Director, you will work closely with the Art Director, Production Designer, Copywriter and Account Management team to translate creative concepts into creative realities. The designs that you create will be both visually engaging and emotionally compelling with an ultimate focus on driving results for Client unparalleled ROI. Our team needs someone who is comfortable with, and capable of designing/producing both highly conceptual ideas and highly straightforward executions. With an ability to discuss and share work with all team members, quickly comprehend visual design requirements and clearly articulate the reasoning behind the proposed design solution(s) this person possesses agility throughout the creative process. In addition the right candidate is a good listener, proactive, a stickler for details, multi-task oriented, flexible, time-efficient, budget conscious and capable of following through on all aspects of a design project.


 


Our ideal Creative Partner:


 


• Expert level in CS3 with an understanding of how to best work between the programs. InDesign is our layout program of choice.


 


• Brainstorm and conceptualize project with Art Director and/or Account Management Team when necessary.


 


 


• Interpret design direction from the Art Director and implement on a project level.


 


• Strong sense of layout, typography and color with a focus on creating compelling, original support imagery that is not limited to direct placement of stock imagary. Ability to create original imagery for a unique and compelling design is a must. Generic is not an option.


 


• 3-5 years experience in a marketing or agency environment.


 


• Familiar with pre-flighting with an understanding of how to setup creative files that can seamlessly transfer to production team with minimal final release preparation.


 


• Ability to work quickly and effectively while under tight deadlines.


 


• Oversee press checks when necessary


 


• Be meticulous at comping ideas for formal client presentations.


 


• Have a high aesthetic taste level and excellent design sense.


 


• Be detail-oriented and exceptionally organized.


 


• The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of current printing and production processes as they relate to timing, budget and desired aesthetic for the final product. Vision is appreciated and well-grounded and aligned with project objective is respected.


 


• Partner with production team to take project from final client approval to completion.


 


• Ability to work independently and also to be a team player.


 


• As our design partner you must have a great sense of humor, an open and willing attitude, a patient way focused on excellent customer service, an entrepreneurial spirit and above all—a passion for design.
