About the Job


Fluent in Spanish both written and oral is MANDATORY.


 


Our Client, located in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking an Associate Actuary with the following skills and/or abilities:


  


Comfortable reporting to the Vice President Corporate Actuary.


 


Manage the transfer of information from the Latin American countries for the monthly financial close.


 


Support the Latin American audit process both in providing and gathering nformation.


 


Review and track revisions to local regulations that affect both the financial reporting and product development.


 


Be the actuarial representative for any interactions with Latin America country regulators.


 


Communicate to and manage relationships with local country managers and producers.


 


Provide local country specific product and market competitive analysis.


 


Communicate and manage the actuarial/local operations relationship.


 


Participate in local country specific meetings: sales reporting, conservation, operations, product, project, etc.


 


Responsible for creation, review and filing of any Spanish policy form, actuarial memorandum, application, etc.


 


Responsible for providing regulatory and system capability feedback in the design and writing of product specifications for any local country products.


 


Assist in developing actuarial students. (Indirect reports)


 


Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business, or Actuarial Science.


 


8 to 12 years actuarial experience in the insurance industry to include financial reporting, valuation, modeling, statutory and GAAP reserves.


 


Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent designation.


 


Proficiency with actuarial modeling systems (TAS and ALFA).


 


Thorough understanding of insurance and accumulation products and financial standards that apply to these products is a must.


 


Outstanding mathematical skills (Candidate must be able to efficiently work the most complicated mathematical problems and tools that exist in the insurance industry).


 


Superior communication skills in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.


 


International experience is a plus.
