ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Fordham College of Liberal Studies offers over 30 majors to approximately 800 full-time and part-time adult students at three separate locations: Lincoln Center campus (Manhattan), Rose Hill campus (the Bronx), and the new Westchester campus (White Plains). The college is expanding and restructuring over the next few years and seeks a strong administrator as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Reporting to the Dean of Fordham College of Liberal Studies, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will be responsible for helping to reorganize the college among the three campuses, and initiating streamlining and standardization of procedures among the campuses in areas such as transfer credit, internship credits, on-line course opportunities, and advising. Additionally, you will work closely with the Westchester assistant dean and advise students at the Westchester campus. You will help coordinate course offerings at all three campuses, and, in coordination with fellow associate deans, oversee hiring of part-time faculty. You will also participate in the recruiting and admissions strategy and process.
We seek a seasoned administrator with a terminal degree or equivalent experience, as well as at least 10 years of combined experience in academic administration, ideally with curricular, faculty and student oversight. Must have experience in developing or implementing new degree programs, instituting structural reorganizations, and working with adult students. Excellent interpersonal, management, administrative and communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to work effectively in a changing environment. This key position requires a keen understanding of the University's strategic plan, and the desire to see that plan move forward.
