Associate Director, Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Our client is a large Biotherapeutics organization focused on research, development, manufacturing and marketing of biotherapies, which are used to treat serious and rare conditions.

Position Title:
Associate Director, Global Health Economics

Business/Functional Unit:
Global Commercial Development

Position Purpose:  Provide an overview of the responsibilities of the position by providing a summary of the most important aspects and duties of the position.

To develop, manage, and execute global health economics strategies and projects in alignment with key business objectives for the assigned franchise – ie. Bleeding.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: List the roles and responsibilities of the position (please limit the number of responsibilities to the primary ten.)

  1. Develop health economics strategies and studies to support product strategy for assigned therapy franchise, ie. Bleeding.
  2. Work with Regional Commercial Operations and Global Business Teams to plan, impact and influence product strategy. Work with the Global Business Teams to ensure product health economic opportunities are utilized during the product lifecycle.
  3. Review and critique medical and evidence-based outcomes literature.  Provide summary information and recommendation for future project ideas and clinical development plans/programs.  Provide input into clinical development plans to ensure health economics and quality of life opportunities are fully utilized.
  4. Collaborate effectively with outsides researchers and vendors in managing projects.  Manage assigned project budgets.
  5. Build relationships with Key Researchers and Opinion Leaders and keeps abreast of the developments in the global health outcomes field.
  6. Have a leadership role in the creation of posters and publications related to studies that support business and research strategies.

Position Qualifications and Experience Requirements:  Provide hiring requirements for the specified position, including educational, experiential, and competency requirements necessary for the position.

Education

  • PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred with 3+ years of experience, or MPH, MSc (in health economics, outcomes research, health services research) with 5+ years of experience.   B.Sc. in life sciences.
  • MBA a plus.

Experience

  • At least 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with doctorate level training in health economics, or Masters with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience working in a global setting and possess an international perspective.

  • Demonstrated work experience on multi-disciplinary/cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

COMPENSATION: Up to $150k base+ bonus + benefits
