Associate Director Global Marketing – Hematology (specialty required):



My client, a small, global, publicly traded biopharmaceutical company, based in CT (2 hours from Boston and 1 ½ hours from NYC) develops drugs that inhibit certain immune system functions that cause auto immune disorders, cancers, and other diseases.  Their marketed product is for the treatment of a rare genetic blood disorder.  They are developing the same antibody as a potential treatment for other auto immune and inflammatory conditions. 

 

 

My client focuses on developing and delivering life-changing therapies for patients with serious and life-threatening conditions.  In addition, they work with patient organizations around the world to sup port patient education programs.

As the company continues to grow, so do their staffing needs.  I am currently looking for an Associate Director of Global Marketing to join the Hematology team.

  

 

TITLE:                          Associate Director Global Marketing - Hematology

 

REPORTS TO:              Sr. Director Global Marketing

 

SALARY RANGE:          up to $140k - ?? base, plus bonus and equity

 

RELO:                          Yes (lump sum allocation)

 

This person will be accountable for global marketing initiatives supporting two ultra-rare indications of a novel orphan therapy.  The candidate will also serve as a commercial liaison between Global Marketing and select in-country marketing teams.  This candidate will report to the Senior Director of Global Marketing.

 

Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

 

  • Develop strategies, tactics, and targeted messaging for new ultra-rare indications
  • Lead development and implementation of critical global marketing initiatives
  • Support the development and implementation of global brand plan and tactical plan
  • Serve as commercial liaison between global marketing and regional marketing teams
  • Ensure global alignment of marketing strategies, positioning, messaging and branding
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional marketing teams and other functional areas (i.e., MSLs, Clinical, Discovery, Regulatory, Legal, and Sales)
  • Prepare and manage global marketing meetings with regional and country organizations
  • Provide direction and guidance to global market research

 

Requirements:

  • Passion for pharma

  • Experience developing strategies and tactics, with a focus on solid implementation of tactics through a combination of individual and team efforts
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects across functional areas, and work independently when appropriate, in teams and as a sub-team lead
  • Experience delivering high-quality work, focus on details and pursuit of perfection 
  • Must have 4+ years pharmaceutical industry experience and a good in-depth knowledge of marketing principles and global marketing experience (i.e. AsiaPac, EMEA, LatAm, US) within the pharmaceutical industry
  • In-depth knowledge in key principles of brand management and marketing, professional promotion and the sales process
  • Experience in managing external brand agencies and vendors on a day-to-day basis and managing promotional budgets
  • Experience launching or working with a newly launched product is a plus
  • Experience in specialty products

 

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Experience in working on global, multi-functional teams preferred
  • Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
