Company overview:
The LTV Group, a multi-titled publishing and media firm based in Dallas, is seeking a talented and passionate associate editor to add to our one-of-a-kind team. Our company is changing the rules of business-to-business publishing by creating high-impact publications that get noticed, and we're in need of a hands-on editor that loves to write as much as they love to edit – someone that relishes a fast-pace and prides themselves on their ability to source and deliver stories with real industry impact.
The LTV Group publishes two market-leading publications: REO Insider, which reaches real estate agents and brokers nationwide; and Housing Wire, the largest newswire dedicated to residential housing finance. We also provide boutique consulting, web development, and related creative services, leveraging our expertise in print and online design and marketing strategy for a select group of clients.
Job description:
This position is within our REO Insider group; REO Insider is published twice per month and distributed to roughly 10,000 real estate agents nationwide. The ideal Associate Editor is a tireless advocate for editorial’s vision and focus, and is a critical key point of contact for those within the industry, as well.
As a vital part of the REO Insider editorial team, the Associate Editor researches, writes and edits material relating to the real estate market in general, and bank-owned real estate in particular. S/he coordinates and edits the efforts of any staff writers or freelancers assigned to the story, and may report or represent publication at functions and shows. The associate editor also will keep current on magazines, newspapers, etc. in assigned areas, and is a key representative for editorial in all magazine planning sessions.
Job requirements:
* BA/BS, preferably in journalism or a related field
* 3-5 years relevant job-related experience
* Previous experience covering real estate, and/or experience covering mortgage banking, considered a large plus
* Ability to build sources quickly
* Must work well with others, and enjoy being part of a team
* Ability to hit tight deadlines while maintain a high quality of work
* Creative thinking, ability to pitch story ideas on cue
Additional requirements:
Our approach to any publication involves a heavy online content strategy as well—the ideal candidate will understand how to use blogging as a way to build their personal brand and an audience for the publication, as well as have familiarity with major social media tools, including Twitter.
Benefits:
The LTV Group offers competitive benefits, including: a medical, dental, and vision plan; a 401(k) with company match; life insurance; flexible spending accounts; paid time off and company holidays; company sponsored events and activities. We also offer employees a casual working environment, as well. Please, no phone calls.
