Job Title:  Associate Engineer - Energy Efficiency

Location:  Cortland, NY

The position will be responsible for conducting evaluations and compliance testing, operating Ozone test lab, set up test samples. Will also prepare test specifications, determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted, analyze and interpret test data, and prepare technical reports.

The position will perform electrical safety testing and evaluation, write reports, and communicate with clients.  The position will involve:

• Conducting electrical safety testing on various products to determine compliance with applicable standards
• Read and determine applicability of National codes and standard clauses for the Equipment under test.

• Analyzing and interpreting test data

• Preparing technical reports
• Communicating project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.  Providing on-going support to clients as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess:

·         Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent in terms of training and experience

·         1- 2 years hands-on testing experience

·         Experience with UL, CSA, IEC, NSF, ANSI, or EN standards

• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
• Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
• Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to travel.
