Associate JAVA Software Developer - Employment Contract / 09-5313
Position Description:
Participate in development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications. Assigned to a project team to support a variety of client/server (or mainframe) platforms. Under the closely monitored leadership and tactical supervision of a Software Project Lead, collaborates with company customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available technologies and recommend solution options. Receives detailed instruction on all assigned work. Write systems programs from detailed specifications including program design, code, test, debug, and documentation
Begins to understand the value of developing business knowledge and relationships to integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support project efforts.
Qualifications:
Requires BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field and equivalent training. 0- 2 years professional experience in business application design, development, installation, and modification in an online environment. Basic technical knowledge of systems development in client/server, Web and/or Mainframe environments. Entry level competency in one of more of the following; C/C++, 4GLs, COBOL, Java,.NET, Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, SAP/ABAP, OLE/MS Office, Windows, ODBC, GUIs, RPCs, various RDBMSs, and others. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. Ability to operate as part of a team organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through implementation. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks.
