Associate Marketing Manager Downtown Chicago Must have Brand Experience! Our Client is a confectionary manufacturer that was founded over100 years ago. A top-ranked global confectionary player, they rank in the top 20 in sales in the USA candy marketplace. Their marketing philosophy centers on building emotional connections to the consumers of their brands General Summary: Product Management: Execute specific tasks and manage projects within brand strategy in support of marketing objectives. Passionate, energetic, action oriented self-started with management potential sought. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Must have 2-3 years of Brand Experience/Brand Strategy
- Support the development and execution of the annual marketing plan through executing annual brand review with support of brand team to aid in development of marketing plan
- Assisting the Marketing Manager/Director in developing the annual marketing plan.
- Autonomously executing delegated portions of the marketing plan within the budget and on time
- Initiate and perform business analyses, identify issues and opportunities and make recommendations to Manager and International Marketing colleagues
Examples of analytical projects include: - Brand/New Item Performance
- Promotion Effectiveness/Efficiency
- Media Performance
- Competitive/Category Analysis – focus on trends and opportunities
- Innovation white space
- Merchandising effectiveness
- SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Threat, Opportunities)
- Profitability improvement opportunity assessment
- Initiate and recommend consumer/retail programs to Manager to achieve brand goals
- Build plans and independently manage programs/budgets.
Lead cross-functional teams on assigned projects such as: . Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of either IRI or Nielsen data and software beneficial
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity beneficial
Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in marketing preferred with 2-3 years brand experience
- Consumer Packaged Goods and new product innovation experience strongly preferred
