• The Packaging Development group will identify and source new and innovative packaging and product concepts to meet the goals of the customer. • Will test, validate and ensure the fit and finish of our package and product meet the highest standards within our budget. The role of associate packaging development engineer is to execute packaging development directives within predetermined timelines to meet the needs of Zotos Professional, Piidea Canada and/or Private Label. Work in partnership with Marketing, Creative, Operations and outside suppliers to develop new product packaging for these business units. Responsible for executing packaging directives within established timelines and cost parameters. Develop partnerships with suppliers to obtain high quality packaging components at competitive prices with reasonable lead times and on time delivery. Responsible for managing multiple projects for completion in a timely and cost effective manner.




What we offer


• Develop packaging to ensure aesthetic, functional, cost, and manufacturing objectives are met. Work through all phases of package development including\: design conception, engineering, specification, and testing of structural packaging components. Modifying as necessary to take into account product fit, structural form, material needs, cost targets, manufacturability, retail environment, and storage and transportation requirements. Keep up with trends and new developments in Packaging Industry Technologies. • Develop new material specifications. Complete component drawing analysis to ensure all components will work well together. Obtain samples of packaging for formula/package compatibility testing and validation testing per established SOP’s. Provide die lines for artwork development to Creative once component specs have been finalized. • Perform all necessary testing in our new packaging development lab. Utilize existing SOP’s, make updates as needed and recommend new processes if improvements are necessary. • Work in collaboration with operations to provide direction and all needed componentry for line trials, and to ensure manufacturing capabilities for all new and existing packaging. Work in collaboration with Geneva QA to resolve quality issues directly, internally and with suppliers. Work with plant engineers to test, analyze and qualify all new packaging to ensure processing capabilities and maximize efficiencies and conduct all distribution testing. • Act as Core Member of new product development teams providing regular feedback to all parties on progress against packaging objectives. Identify and communicate viable options if original plan fails. Collaborate and communicate with various teams as well as external partners to define packaging requirements, packaging specifications and track project priorities. • Obtain initial quotes and exhibit basic negotiating skills. Provide specifications to Geneva Purchasing Department via spec system with the information necessary to issue purchase orders. Also, be aware of opportunities to save cost through packaging or processes. • Handle other projects as required.

Qualification:

Who we are looking for


• B.S Degree in Packaging Science and or 1 to 3 years equivalent in a similar industry. • Ability to effectively communicate and multi-task cross functionally in a fast paced environment, both internally and externally. • Strong presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills are critical. • Excellent project management and time management skills, with attention to deadlines. • Computer proficiency required in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Experience in PPM, or PLM systems a plus. • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
