Gurnick
Academy of Medical Arts – a leading Bay Area healthcare educational
institution offering an extensive variety of healthcare programs such
as Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Diagnostic Medical Sonography
(Ultrasound Technology), Radiologic Technology, MRI Technology,
Psychiatric Technician, Phlebotomy Technician. We are currently looking
for RN/ LVN Associate Program Coordinator for our Licensed Vocational Nursing program in Fresno, CA campus.


 


 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Associate
Program Coordinator will report directly to Campus Administrator and VN
Program Coordinator. Job duties include but are not limited to the
following:


 


Program Coordination & Substitute Teaching


-           To supervise the study and learning activities of enrolled VN students.


-           To
act as a substitute instructor when a clinical instructor or full time
instructor is unavailable to conduct class (ex- sick leave, vacation,
etc.)


-           To request instruction aids and to utilize available aids to enhance the learning experiences of the students.


-           To
be accessible via email/ phone for students to ask questions and be
able to have guidelines to enhance their learning activities. 


-           To
develop “remediation” plan for those students who have received
non-passing grades or for other reasons to improve students’ academic
performance. (Remediation plan should be developed within 10 working
days).


-           To provide guidance to other faculty and staff about the program principles, standards, policies, education and evaluation.


-           To
participate in developing and updating program’s syllabuses, missions,
rules, training methods and evaluation materials and standards.


-           To maintain continuous medical education and assure about the facilities continuous medical education requirements.


-           To participate in “in-service” training sessions and seminars in order to improve teaching styles and techniques.       


-           To be able to substitute instruct (upon availability).


 


 


Clinical Facilities


-          Work together with faculty members and programs officials in establishing new relationships with clinical facilities


-          Perform functions of a liaison between Academy and Clinical facilities.


-          Work together with the Program Coordinator in establishing a strategy to obtain and retain clinical facilities.


-          To assist VN Program Coordinator coordinate the rotation of students in affiliated clinical facilities.


-          Visit clinical sites as assigned by VN Program Coordinator- site visits will be conducted in both AM and PM shifts.


-          To submit student internship requirements to clinical facilities.


-          To assist in establishing new relationships with potential clinical affiliated facilities.


-          Take badge photos for student badges


 


Surveys


-          Administer,
collect, and analyze VN Student surveys (student instructor/course,
student clinical facility, program resource, etc.), Graduate Surveys,
Employer Surveys.


-          Administer
all student surveys at the end of each module using appropriate forms;
using summary forms to analyze data; share results with faculty members
and administration and suggest and assist in implementing appropriate
changes to correct deficiencies.


-          To
document instructors’ acknowledgements of evaluations and assist VN
Program Coordinator in preparing plans of action to increase teaching
techniques.  


 


Student Folders


-          To perform constant reviews of student folders to insure proper filing of attendance and academic performance.


-          To Assist VN Program Coordinator in completing Placement Records.


-          To collect all Student immunizations, CPR, Background checks, and other Internship Requirements as needed.


 


Intranet


-          To perform constant review and/or input of student grades and student (didactic and clinical) attendance on intranet.


-          To set-up, assist and train faculty members to utilize Intranet and other features to monitor students’ performance.


 


 


Student Activities


-          Assist in graduation ceremonies


-          Participate
and assist planning a variety of student functions including but not
limited to: various student workshops, seminars.


-          Assist
Campus Administrator in upkeep of student lounge including but not
limited to: maintenance of Career Board, Community Board, Library. 


-          Assist Campus Administrator in upkeep of Student bulletin boards


-          Assist
VN Program coordinator in establishing HESI arrangements for students
including but not limited to: HESI site reservations, distribution of
HESI scores to corresponding students.


-          Participate in Proctoring the HESI exam


 


Support Staff/Faculty


-          Support
and assist in helping Campus Administrator, VN Program Coordinator, and
Chief Academic Officer in the program(s) organizational and maintenance
activities.


-          Work closely with VN Program Coordinator and Campus Administrator to insure organized and structured program’s operations.


-          To
organize/participate in meetings with didactic and clinical faculty
members. To document meetings with official meeting minutes.


-          To
support the campus administrator and program director/ manager or
associate program director in the organization of the program and
implementation of the program’s standards.


 


REQUIREMENTS:



1.         Licensed LVN / Registered Nurse

2.         Hold an Associate or Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school; and

3.         Have a minimum of 3 years experience as a registered nurse/ or a licensed LVN

4.         Completion of Teaching Credential & Curriculum development courses
