FUNCTION
The assistant program director assists the program director in managing the delivery of services to clients within the policies and guidelines of Volunteers of America. In the absence of the program director, assumes the responsibilities of that position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The position requires a master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health related discipline; a bachelor's degree in a mental health related discipline plus four years of experience in a mental health setting, if the individual was hired prior to January 1, 2005. This position requires a minimum of one-year supervisory and residential experience.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in managing and developing program personnel in case management, quality assurance, crisis intervention and training
2. Assist in establishing and maintaining program delivery models
3. Assist in developing and maintaining linkages with other service agencies, generic community resources, and state/city liaisons
4. Ensure that regulations and quality assurance indicators are achieved
5. Maintain client records in a professional and confidential manner
6. Assist in the general management of the facility or program
7. Support for staff 24 hours a day
8. Perform other related duties as assigned
