About the Job

Henkels & McCoy, Inc., one of the largest privately held international utility contracting firms, with offices in 80 cities and celebrating 85 years of operating with a reputation as one of the most reliable and innovative firms in engineering and construction, is currently seeking an Associate Project Manager.  The Associate Project Manager will provide project management support, assists in the management for multiple, large, utility, construction projects throughout the West Region with an emphasis on the utility industry. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of project management methodology and will gain a thorough understanding of utility industry practices, operations, contract administration, contract management, processes, and standards.

  • Provides support to our Managers and is responsible for assisting in maintaining project performance (scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, and customer satisfaction).
  • Serves as subject matter expert as it relates to the project management methodology and is the primary point of contact with our managers.
  • Reports project status and performance data as required to managers and senior management.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Ensures compliance with the H&M Policies and Procedures.
  • Assists in the planning, monitoring, and controlling the project throughout its lifecycle.

• BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) essential with management, project team, contractors, and customer, both written and oral.
• Team Building Skills; Encouraging and enabling people to work together as a team to accomplish the project goals.
• Minimum experience in Project Planning or Project Management Scheduling.
• Ability to train others.
• Ability to travel extensively if needed.
