The Associate Registrar will manage student course scheduling for one or more programs or schools of study in order to achieve maximum efficiency of all resources. This position will also entail coordinating and maintaining student records and enrollment status from admissions through graduation. This position is located in Carmel, Indiana.
Key Responsibilities
- Determines ideal course schedules for students by manipulating computerized course scheduling output to ensure the most efficient class schedule for each student and the program or school as a whole.
- Collaborates with the Dean in order to resolve conflicts with final schedule results.
- Manages and ensures validity of tables in the computerized scheduling software.
- Approves course transfer credits by evaluating transcripts and analyzing related course content from transferring schools for equivalent course materials.
- Manages requests for student program and course status changes.
- Approves graduation eligibility of students by performing degree audits to ensure students meet program requirements.
- Ensures that all student requests for transcripts and enrollment/degree verifications are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Monitors the security and maintenance of all student admissions and academic records.
Required Skills- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration or a related field required, Master's degree preferred. Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience with student/customer contact. Experience in an educational administration environment preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience with student course scheduling software or similar database experience is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills required.
- Ability to adapt and maintain a positive orientation to change and to learn new methodologies, technologies and systems.
- Able to utilize discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Evening Hours and Occasional Saturdays required.
