Associate, Speaker Agent - Monitor Talent
Opportunity Description
Monitor Talent is recruiting an outstanding individual to join a dynamic team establishing a new generation of premium talent services for business, science and society gurus. Monitor Talent is a full service talent agency supporting the wide range of needs of gurus and thought leaders.
Working with the Monitor Talent team, the candidate will be primarily responsible for:
Client Sales and Marketing: Assisting talent agents in transactional support for the selling and booking of our talent clients to buyers:
· Corporations and other institutions (non-profits, educational, government, etc.) who will engage the Talent Clients for their own purposes, e.g. Meetings, seminars, retreats, off-sites, workshops, training sessions, consulting assignments, etc. The direct institutional buyers may be senior executives, strategic planners, chiefs of staff, executives, HR representatives, internal educators/trainers, PR departments, corporate events personnel, meeting planners, etc.
· Conference and convention organizers who stage events and work to create agendas where Talent is identified, booked and the logistics are managed. These engagements are frequently keynote speeches, workshops, book signings, panel discussions, etc. These individuals are either attached to a company in the business of running large-scale events, or are within firms that are retained to provide meeting planning services on behalf of their clients
· Professional speaker bureaus who may present speaking opportunities for Monitor Talent clients from their program buyer clients, either correspondent agencies in the Monitor Talent network, or other outside agencies with whom we co-broker
The candidate will handle specific engagement selling, logistics and contract support. He/she will:
· Ensure that booked events are being handled according to premium levels of service
· Keep the Talent Clients and Program Buyers apprised of engagement related specific requirements (audiovisual, promo materials, NDAs, permission to record forms, etc.)
· Obtain and communicate feedback on events/engagements
· Create outbound solicitation lists from our client/prospect database
· Generate email templates and outbound materials
· Handle inbound inquiries, including checking dates for talent, obtaining details on potential bookings, and communicating these to the agent team
· Manage the contractual and logistical details involved in selling and delivering the Talent for the engagements, such as submitting firm offers and gathering contract information
Qualifications and personal qualities we seek include:
Skills
· Demonstrated ability to sell, market and effectively represent our talent clients through written communications and telephone calls.
· Strong listening and interpersonal communications skills.
· Attention to detail In a transactional business
· Expertise with CRM or sales support software is a plus
Knowledge
· Relevant prior experience includes: sales support in a lecture agency, event business, professional services firm, executive recruiting or PR/advertising.
· Multi-disciplinary work experience that combines personal relationship building, management of complex projects and programs, and high attention to flawless execution.
