| Job Summary: | Assists the Lead Teacher in providing a warm and nurturing environment. To assist children in gaining proficiency in the areas of language, motor, social, cognitive, and self-help skills through developmentally appropriate activities. Under the general supervision of the Director or designee, VNA Child Care and Family Resource Center and the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions: Assist, plan, and implement the daily program under the direction of the Lead Teacher or in place of the Lead Teacher in cases approved by the Director or designee. This includes planning activities for the children. Assist in establishing, preparing for, and caring for a developmentally appropriate environment. Make any suggestions to the Lead Teacher that may benefit the classroom or program. Supervise and interact with children in all activities. Help maintain the observational and assessment records kept on each child. Responsible for completing all required paperwork in a diligent and thorough manner. Adhere to the program's policies, health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures, and be ready to implement these if necessary. Education: Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED and nine (9) ECE credits required.
