JFF seeks candidates for the Associate Vice President for Human Resources
to lead the Human Resource team of this progressive and rapidly growing non
profit organization.



 



Job Description



 



As a key
member of the senior management team, the Associate Vice President for Human
Resources is responsible for developing a Human Resource strategy for JFF that
will allow the organization to attract and retain the top talent in the field.
Specifically the position is responsible for planning, controlling and
directing organization-wide Human Resources functions including recruitment,
compensation, employee relations, performance management and the development
and implementation of best practice policies and procedures.  This position reports directly to the Chief
Operating Officer.



 



Responsibilities



 



Provide
direction and leadership to the HR staff in the development of an HR strategy
for the organization.



 



Direct the
planning, development and implementation of policies and procedures, programs,
processes and services to enhance the effectiveness of the JFF employees.



 



Provide
consultation and expertise to senior management and staff on Human Resource
issues. 



 



Develop innovative
recruitment activities that attract a highly qualified, diverse candidate pool
resulting in  significant diversity at
JFF.



 



Develop a
total rewards compensation approach for the organization that provides a strong
competitive position for the organization as it seeks to attract and retain
talent. Ensure a fair and equitable distribution of all compensation. 



 



Provide
leadership on organizational development and change management initiatives.



 



 



Working
with the HR team, the incumbent will be responsible for salary administration
duties including job classification, compiling data for salary surveys,
developing and overseeing a job description process and the slotting of
positions for pay.



 



Oversee the
benefits programs, and develop, as necessary, specifications for new benefit
plans.



 



Plan,
organize and direct the performance management process for all JFF
employees.  Ensure that employees are
given timely and constructive feed back on their performance.



 



Develop
and deliver management training that will enhance the capabilities of managers.
Develop training on HR systems and procedures. Work with managers to seek out
training opportunities for their staff members. 



 



Working
with outside service providers, ensure that the HR technology being utilized by
the organization is in keeping with current progressive  practice and gives timely and accurate
information to staff and managers and assists with decision making.



 



Maintain
current knowledge of laws, codes, regulations and pending legislation related
to Human Resources activities; and modify programs, functions and procedures to
assure compliance with local, State and Federal requirements as appropriate.



 



Develop and
prepare the annual budget for Human Resources



 



Qualifications



 



Bachelor's
degree required; advanced degree, in human resources management preferred.



 



10+ years
Human Resources experience with at least 4 years as a Manager or Director of a
full service Human Resources department in a not for profit organization
required.



 



Must be an
empowered self-starter who provides leadership on HR issues and takes
responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the day-to-day
operations of the HR department.  



 



Must be
able to operate at all levels of the organization and demonstrate the ability
to influence managers through careful reasoning.



 



Expertise
in a wide variety of HR practices including: 
employee relations, recruitment; salary and benefits administration;
policy development and administration; EEO; HRIS and employee
communication. 



 



Experience
in leading change management initiatives is also required.



 



Ability to
identify best practices and use excellent judgment in the implementation and
management of new programs.  



 



Commitment

communication and writing and speaking skills required.
