Associate plant Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This is a developmental position that could lead to a position as a Plant Manager in an 18-24 month timeframe. The emphasis is to hire someone with proven Plant Manager skills and teach them the Milgard way. The four essential components a successful Associate Plant Manager must learn are: Milgard’s pace; MPS; Philosophy; and affinity for people development. During the eighteen month timeframe, the Associate Plant Manager may fill any number of job roles. An 18-24 month developmental plan will be developed to ensure the Associate Plant Manager has the opportunity to develop the skills and attributes needed to be successful at Milgard. Upon successful completion of training, the Associate Plant Manager may be placed at a location.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for one or more of the operations functions: Production, Delivery, Service, Maintenance, Scheduling, Materials and Purchasing and all associated personnel. • May assist with the budget of department managing. Manages and controls expenditures and variances. • Ensures plant staff enforces Company policies and procedures, plant wide safety rules and employee rules of conduct. • Responsible for: developing people; improving processes; reducing costs; quality monitoring and improvements; new product development and implementation; superior customer service; and on-time delivery. • Reviews production costs and production quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of plant • Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. • Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy. • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, terminating, disciplining and coaching employees. • Participates in the Leadership Development Program (LDP) for the location. • Creates and executes MPS objectives, meeting MPS commitments and working within the guidelines of MPS; reflects Milgard business values and the Milgard philosophy in all business interactions.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION: • Could supervise Production, Distribution, Scheduling, Service, Maintenance or Materials Departments either directly or through the respective department head.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Ten (10) plus years operations management and/or production management experience
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING: • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or management related field
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES: • Read, write and understand the English language • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents • Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently • Ability to motivate employees to achieve results • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present to senior management • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills • Excellent customer service skills • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community. • Must possess ability to apply basic concepts of alg
