Asst Dir, Strategic Plan/Prog
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Director for Strategic Planning and Programs develops and implements plans for growth, innovation, and development of special programs and events. Acts as a working program manager through developing event timelines, assuming responsibility for the execution of events, recruiting and developing corporate and other significant sponsorships, and establishing key indicators and measures of success. Collaborates with with leadership and development personnel to create long-range funding strategies. Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, cultivates relationships with prospective donors, and identifies strategic positioning objectives. Designs evaluation strategies that will influence long-term program planning and development. May supervise other employees. Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelors degree and five years of experience in development, strategic planning, and/or event management OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. A master's degree is preferred.

Additional Job Details Initial responsibility for this position focuses on two major commitments that will position the Center for the future: the 2010 Twentieth Anniversary celebration of the Center's Founding and a world conference sponsored by the Center in 2012.
Working closely with the leadership of the Center, the Assistant Director will provide leadership to and steward all efforts associated with these two significant special events. Leading a diverse team of professionals, s/he will serve as working manager of both projects, developing event timelines, assuming responsibility for the execution of both events, helping recruit and develop corporate and other sponsorships, and establishing key indicators and measures of success.
