Position summary
Manages the Attorney Intervention Group (AIG), which handles complex healthcare collections. Ensures the Department operates at a high level of quality, productivity, revenue and margin, while attaining service level requirements, and operational objectives. Support the Sales Division in new client development and sales presentations. Handle and resolve complex insurance claims where legal expertise is required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Handle and resolve complex insurance and other claims that have been passed up from subordinates unable to provide resolution. Develop best practice workflow/processes and team structure within the AIG department to facilitate efficient resolution of insurance claims. Act as the company’s expert and in-house counsel on industry related regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and FACTA (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act). Support Sales Division during prospective client visits and presentations. Stay current on workers' compensation, insurance and healthcare law, and maintain continuing education requirements of the State Bar. Remain in good standing with the State Bar and adhere to the State Code of Professional Conduct.
Expectations § Manage the information and reporting process to ensure proper and timely actions are taken. § Provide regular and ad hoc management reports on department and client performance and issues. § Complete the essential duties and responsibilities as listed accurately and timely. § Be positive and optimistic and understand your role. § Abide by RCS corporate policies and procedures. Supervisory Responsibilities § Perform regular employee reviews and disciplinary actions if necessary. § Coordinate AIG efforts and needs with appropriate departments/divisions across RCS. § Delegate duties as necessary to ensure accurate and timely resolution on matters. § Interview, hire, promote, counsel and fire employees as needed or warranted. § Monitor and manage all aspect of AIG’s operations and performance.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
Minimum of 3 years of management or supervisory experience in healthcare, insurance or related field is required.
A Juris Doctorate is preferred along with a current license to practice law and 3 years as a practicing attorney preferably in healthcare, insurance or a related field. Knowledge of multiple hospital patient accounting systems is a plus.
