Job Description:
· Responsible for monitoring day-to-day production processes, tooling, and operations related to automation equipment.
· Lead skilled trades, maintenance personnel to evaluate controls requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, output, and up time.
· Develop and implement continuous productivity and FTT improvements
· Project development and implementation
· Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives.
· Work closely with maintenance personnel on project work and corrective actions.
· Maintain documentation and identify cost saving ideas
· Drive cycle time optimization and constraint analysis in all zones
· Coordinate equipment refurbishment.
· Ensure start-up readiness for production
· Optimize floor layouts
· System issue resolution
· Manage the procurement, build and installation of production line improvements and modifications
as required.
· Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies.
· Assist and teach maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair.
· Determine root cause of controls related downtime issues.
· Work with suppliers to evaluate their products in our problem resolution process.
· Maintain backup copies of all machine software (PLC, robot, servo, etc.).
· Maintain controls drawings (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulics, and mechanical).
Requirements include:
· Experience in PLC, Kawasaki and ABB Robotics, Weld Controls, Power and free conveyors, Lift and Carry Transfers, Cymonic and VFD would be preferred.
· Electrical engineering degree with computer knowledge would be preferred.
· Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls systems.
· Experience with electrical installations of Allen Bradley controls (1394, 1336, and Power Flex frequency drives) Square D logic controls.
· Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA regulations.
